Carly is incredibly friendly. I will never forget the way we met. I was walking to my car from Starbucks, and she called out my name, bounding down a hill to meet me. We bonded over our mutual connection to Invisible Children (she was a Roadie in Fall ‘09) and our love for the same human beings that work there.
Carly is a lover of cats, thrift stores, and Disney. She lives in Tennessee now, finishing her degree in International Development.
Rachel and I are in love with her mint-colored dress.

Oh, Bridgette. How is it possible for one girl to steal the hearts of so many?
Seriously. I have a huge girl-crush on this lady from Santa Barbara. I think everyone I know does. Not only is she insanely intelligent (London School of Economics, anyone?), but she’s so down to earth.
You can find her going straight to the beach to catch some waves after work or doing yoga like the pro she is.

“Hey, porkchop!“ Lauranne calls out to me with a smile on her face. And even before my mind registers it, I smile back automatically. She has that effect on people, which is so convenient when you’re nervous about getting your picture taken. That’s right- this is the Lauranne that has helped Weathered Hems out with the site’s pictures.
I walk by as I watch her bring her Canon Rebel to her face, preparing to photograph a yoga bag for an organization called One Mango Tree. She’s a fantastic photographer, and she just got back from Uganda, where she spent a year working for One Mango Tree.
What I love about Lauranne’s style is that she’s always willing to combine very different colors and patterns into her daily wear. It makes outfits like this one, really stand out. She actually bought the skirt in this picture in downtown Gulu at shack that sells used clothing. Then, she paid a local tailor to make it look a little different from the original cut.
If you’d like to learn more about the things that inspire Lauranne’s art, style, or thoughts you should visit her blog. You can also check out her work at Glorify Photography.
I ran across these men on State Street, Santa Barbara. I loved their glasses, mustaches, and warm smiles. These are the types I would love to have as grandpas.
